Indonesia: Wellness Programs Relatively New and Growing

Posted July 13, 2017

According to the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, wellness programs are relatively new to Indonesia, gaining ground over the last 10 years. More global employers are seeing the value and have an interest in increasing employee productiveness and engagement through wellness programs at work.

Like so much of the modern world, many Indonesians suffer from chronic health conditions where wellness programs have shown over time to make a difference.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 49% of deaths for working adults ages 30-70 in Indonesia are caused by cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, or diabetes. Employers are recognizing they can positively impact the health of their employee population, and productivity of their business with workplace wellness programs.
