Bulgaria COVID-19 Employer Resources

Currently, Bulgaria does not stick to the pre-approved vaccination plan. The state has decided to give everyone access to vaccines and anyone who wishes to be able to be vaccinated.

COVID-19 vaccine considerations for Bulgaria

  • Can employers mandate the vaccine?
    No
  • Who will control delivery of the vaccine?
    Federal government
  • Who covers the cost of the vaccine?
    Government
  • Where will people get vaccinated?
General practitioner's office, mobile vaccination centers, RHI, medical institutions
  • Is there cultural resistance to getting the vaccine?
A little, because the COVID-19 vaccine is so new

Bulgaria changed the vaccination plan and started mass vaccination of all people wishing to be vaccinated, regardless of the initially defined phases. The vaccines ran out quickly and were gone for several days. On Sunday, February 28, a shipment arrived from Astra Zeneca and vaccination was resumed without observing the phases. There are long queues of willing people. People over the age of 65 have an advantage. Vaccination points will work until the available vaccines are exhausted, and the only product offered is Astra Zeneca.
