Executive Director

Jim has over 35 years of leadership experience in law, global employee benefits and human resources consulting, and insurance. His tenure as a senior executive at Mercer, Arthur Andersen, Sedgwick Noble Lowndes, and Arthur Gallagher significantly benefits the Partnership as we continue strengthening and growing our role in the global employee benefits and HR marketplace. Jim’s education includes a master’s degree in Tax Law from Boston University and a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in Connecticut. He resides in the Boston metropolitan area and is a private pilot, avid skier, and runner who shares these passions with his family.

Marc brings more than twenty years of experience in the employee health benefits industry to his role as Vice President, Consulting, with Cowan Insurance Group. In this capacity, Marc leads both the national, international, and pension teams and is accountable for developing and deploying account acquisition and retention strategies, as well as identifying opportunities for multiline growth, and strategic partnerships. Certified in Global Benefits Management by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Marc fosters and maintains strategic relationships with clients and service partners around the world.

Managing Director and Executive Leader of the Global Practice Executive at Alliant Employee Benefits.

Bret and his business partner started their own employee benefit brokerage firm (Arlen Group) in 1995, which became part of Alliant in 2010. He has over 25 years of experience as an industry-leading employee benefit consultant and has assisted employers in a wide range of industries, including technology, life sciences, and professional services. He currently oversees a team of consultants who specialize in guiding medium and large employers through complex insurance, compliance, communication and administration challenges.

Glenn Thomas
Director – Howden Employee Benefits & Wellbeing and Global Practice Leader.

Glenn’s background in developing employee benefits practices spans 25 years. He joined Howden in March 2018 as Managing Director, with the goal of building a client focused employee benefits organization. His experience includes serving as CEO of Jelf Employee Benefits as well as being one of the founders of the Jelf Group. As CEO of Jelf, Glenn was responsible for leading the employee benefits and financial planning division of the company. Jelf was acquired by Marsh & McLennan in 2015. Following the acquisition, Glenn took on the responsibility of developing the employee benefits business for Marsh as a member of the Marsh UK & Ireland Executive Committee, and the Leadership of Small and Medium Enterprises for Mercer Marsh Benefits in the UK. He moved to Mercer as a Partner in Global Business Solutions in 2017 before joining Howden.


Davin Spollen

Senior Consultant, Employee Benefits and Financial Planning – Glennon Insurance Brokers and Consultants

Davin Spollen joined Frank Glennon (Life & Pensions) Ltd in 2016 and has worked as a member of the International Employee Benefits and Financial Planning Consultancy team throughout his time with Glennon. Davin has extensive experience working with Directors, Global Benefits Managers, HR Business Partners and People Operations in the roll out of employee benefits packages and financial wellness programs. In addition to group life, income protection, individual financial planning and company pensions, Davin has a keen interest in the area of group private medical insurance and the synergies that can be created with carriers / insurers to further enhance client wellness programs to the benefit of clients and their employees. Davin serves as a council member of the Irish Institute of Pension Management  and also participates in several international employee benefits working groups, the aim of which is to share information about recent benefits developments, to exchange sectoral benchmarking data, and to hold regular discussions on improvements in the quality and delivery of these benefits to staff.

Pedro Carranço

Chief Commercial Officer – VISAVIS

Pedro Carranço is the Chief Commercial Officer at VISAVIS Seguros in Portugal. Pedro joined VISAVIS in 2018 after nearly 20 years working for Generali as Employee Benefits Director and Brokers Regional Manager. Prior to that he also worked at Zurich and at Gil y Carvajal & Gras Savoye. Pedro is a law graduate from the University of Lisbon and has several national and international training certificates in different areas of insurance. Besides Portuguese, his mother language, he also speaks English, Spanish, and French. Pedro lives near Lisbon with his wife and their two daughters.
