USA: Alliant’s FAQ for the week: March 4th

Last week’s Frequently Asked Question was regarding reviewing completed 1095 Forms for your clients. Here’s what Asinta’s US Partner, Alliant published –

Q: My clients are sending me samples of completed 1095 Forms and asking me to review them for accuracy. What should I do?
A: Generally we are careful about providing Form specific guidance only where revenue and client relationship warrant the risk. There are relatively significant liabilities when we conduct ourselves as a de facto vendor and need to be careful of that. In situations where the client relationship/revenue do not warrant that risk, and we have many of them at this point, we are providing the Employer Reporting Guide to the group, noting the wealth of information there and the sample Forms, which cover the most common situations, and even some of the less common situations. A close review of that Guide should get our clients most of the way there if they are doing reporting of their own. If they have a vendor, they should be looping in with that vendor for guidance as well. In cases where an Alliant review is warranted, please engage your compliance team member for support.
