Updated: Australia Passes Legislation Offering 10 Days Leave for Domestic Violence
Part of Australia’s Fair Work Amendment Bill 2022 includes 10 days of leave for most employees who encounter family and domestic violence. The aim of this part of the legislation is to give employees the time and resources to remove themselves from a dangerous situation without risking their livelihood. [Update: The bill goes into effect on February 1, 2023. For small businesses (15 employees or less), the law goes into effect beginning August 1, 2023.]
