China’s middle class is growing, and with that, more of the population has disposable income. This rise of the middle class is translating into an increased interest in broader benefits packages that include wellness programs.
According to MetLife’s China Employee Benefit Trends Study 2015:
79% of Chinese employees want more wellness programs to be offered.
Companies often offer basic health coverage; so broader packages are more desirable to employees.
71% of employers in China found retaining talent difficult (highest in world).
68% of employers in China think their employees are loyal. Only 39% of Chinese employees agreed.
